Donkey Kong Suh

Ha ha ha!  Too funny!  And the funniest part is, it's obvious Newton rehearsed his little Donkey Kong skit, but when he had to deliver it live, he flubbed it, saying his main concern was to find ways to be protected BY Donkey Kong Suh and Nick Fairley.    Ha ha ha. . .but somehow, after probably hearing himself being called Donkey Kong a thousand times between now and kickoff Sunday, I don't think Donkey Kong, er, Ndamukong, will be feeling too protective of Newton.

I'm tempted to switch my pick from Carolina to Detroit because the last player to dog Suh, Green Bay's Josh Sitton, got his ass handed to him all game long, and the Lions pancaked the Pack 40-10.  But I like a cocky quarterback.  This isn't some crybaby lineman whining Suh's too mean, this is the star QB calling out the other team's badass, saying bring it on, baby!  Panthers - Lions already had the look of a fun game, Newton just juiced it even more.

  1. Hate to say it, I'm a fan of Cam.

He just elevated that game to must see.

  2. Yup,this could be a good one. You know Suh and Fairley would love to go high/low on Newton.

  3. I didn't catch it but it sounds like a real snoozer.

Looking at the numbers, Detroit held Carolina down on rushing but couldn't do much about his passing. Also, those couple lost fumbles. . . .

Is the Carolina D that strong or is Detroit that hapless?

  4. 3 turnovers, 2 missed fieldgoals, Johnson dropped a td pass, the usual Lions blunders--Carolina is nothing special, but you don't have to be to beat Detroit. And for some reason, the Lions barely used Reggie Bush, giving most of the rb work to plowhorse Joique Bell.

Seattle got beat fairly easily by San Diego--after only two weeks of the season, there doesn't appear to be any monster teams in the NFL.

  5. You'll love this but I think Denver looked dominating.

Wilson showed he can't bring a team back in the Charger game. Seattle isn't built to come from behind. Rivers looked good. The big number was SD possessing the ball about 43 minutes.

That's how Seattle is defeated. Wear down the defense.

  6. Denver can go 16 - 0, and I'll pick them to lose their first playoff game. . .

  7. Regular season Manning and post season Manning are different guys. For now, they look like the best team until the playoffs.

SB favorite for now? Texans. Until their RB gets busted for doing something hitty or abusey.
