NFL Week 16 Picks (Sloppy, Hurried Holiday Edition)

5-1 vs the spread last week, 50-42-2 for the year. . .

Minnesota +7 at Green Bay: The Vikings got rolled by one of the softest teams in the League, the Colts, last week. . .I can't imagine that sat too well with Mike Zimmer.  I expect a much better effort from Minnesota this week.  The Lavender Bay Fudge Packers are on a little hot streak, with their faggot QB Aaron Rodgers playing like an All-Pro again, and now Media has them pegged as a *dangerous* team. . .sorry, but their defense isn't good enough for them to be *dangerous.*  Minnesota.

Atlanta -2.5 at Carolina: After playing the Rams and 49ers, the Panthers are gonna seem like the '85 Bears to the Falcons.  It might take the Falcons until late into the second half to get over the shock of having to play a real professional football team.  Atlanta wins late.  Atlanta.

Baltimore +5 at Pittsburgh: This one is for the AFC North Division title.  Steelers have the better offense, the Ravens have the better defense and coach.  Baltimore.

Detroit +7 at Dallas: Lions will keep this one close all the way and beat the spread, and may lead late in the game, but no way the League lets Detroit win this over its #1 Glamour team and block its #2 Glamour team Lavender Bay from winning the NFC North.  The zebras will give the Cowboys some home cookin' late in the 4th quarter to allow Dallas to win.  Detroit.

  1. MN vs GB - MN looks like they've given up. It's pitiful what they've become. GB, for some reason, maybe love is in the air for their QB, is looking decent. MN looks awful. GB takes this.

Atlanta vs Carolina - Falcons take this and take it hard. Jones will be back in the lineup and they're getting hot at the right time to carry themselves through the playoffs. Yes, they've played some chump teams. Cam is hurting. The Panther defense isn't looking that good anymore. Falcons take this one.

    Balt vs Pitt - Balt.

Detroit vs Dallas - Detroit all the way. I'm rooting for them.

  2. Some thoughts on Cam Newton - http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/12/19/nfl-week-15-cam-newton-struggles-carolina-panthers-offensive-line-receivers-kelvin-benjamin

It's an interesting piece but it misses one thing and that is the psychological aspect of Newton's game.

This is where Kaepernick has had an impact in the NFL. Black quarterbacks like Russell Wilson don't have to worry about it because he's always been considered a House Negro. He learned to deal with that aspect a long time ago and is comfortable enough with it to play through that part of the mental game.

Newton, however, is not used to that describer. This is the guy who was kicked out of a school for some kind of laptop situation. His dad was selling access or doing some sort of bullshit.

My point being, Newton was seen as somewhat a rebellious guy. A black qb the Man didn't like.

But Newton was never a real "nigga." It was an illusion that blacks got behind without really consulting Newton.

So then this Kaepernick thing comes along where Kaepernick, a half white and half something else (I say it's not West African) and raised by whites, started kneeling down for the national anthem.

    What would Newton do?

He didn't participate. Newton was never that "nigga." He was the real black George Foreman, from a poorer background, to the notably whiter, and from a wealthier background, Ali.

But George was the House Negro in this scenario. It got to him, too.

It's gotten to Newton as well.

  3. I agree 100% with you. . .Newton's struggle's are psychological. . .that article, with the shit about the blitzes and foot work don't explain such a huge drop-off. . .it's obvious from the way Newton goes about things that he's not mentally strong. . .the guy is bi-polar, in that he's always having fun, or he's pouting. . .up and down, and when things go south, it takes a lot more for him to get out of it.

Foreman had that same problem also, until he became a preacher and shed himself of all that mental baggage.

  4. Falcons are currently up 13-0 but the problem with the team still remains - they don't consistently keep the offense on the field long enough to keep the defense fresh and the defense isn't good enough to compensate. Shit, the defense isn't good enough even if the offense goes ball-control.

The good news is Ryan really is having a good year and maintaining and the Falcons are using their fullback more often.

It's not perfect, far from it, it's an improvement, but there are times the Falcons play for something else. I don't know what it is exactly, but it's like their play calling is often ruled by team politics.

The announcers are keying off on Newton's "mechanics." His mechanics look the same as last year.

Again, this shit is mental. Maybe Newton would benefit from speaking with George Foreman. Ha ha, maybe not because George would tell Cam to quit football for a few years and join a 20 member church.

  5. From the boxscore, it looks like Newton sucked. . .is Atlanta's defense for real, or is it the scrub teams they're playing? Can the Falcons stand up to Dallas' O-Line?

Carr went down? Shit, they might as well just cancel the AFC playoffs, now. . .they got nobody over there now who can even come close to NE.

Ha ha! As soon as Jax fires Gus Bradley, the Jags play 100% better! Bortles looks like a QB again!

  6. From highlights of Rams-49ers: Jared gOOf is horrible. It ought to be completely obvious this fag will NEVER be an NFL QB. He just don't have it. One of the All-Time worst draft picks.

  7. Lions going old school with their white running back tonite.

  8. Man, did the Lions get killed or what. I didn't get to see it but it looks like the Detroit white RB did pretty well, actually, against a tough Dallas run defense. Did they abandon the run or were those garbage runs in the second half?

It was tied up at the half, right?

This is what kills me about Detroit. Their runner did 67 yards and it looks like it was all in the first half. And then Stafford tosses a bad INT. Then gets sacked again and fumbles. And there was a pass interference within the 5 yard line that could have gone either way, but of course went against Detroit.

It's got to be frustrating to watch the whole game like this. Tied at the half and after a couple miscues, and Dak killing it with those passes along with the Dallas runner, and Detroit falls apart, gives up on the run, and can't pass block consistently.

  9. Yeah, they ran the ball in the first half. . .Stafford tried to force some shit, but he had to, he knew the defense wasn't doing shit, so he had to match Dallas score-for-score. It wasn't their night.

Dallas couldn't beat Atlanta. They don't have the defense. As long as Ryan doesn't give the game away, the Falcons will win.

The worst call in the Lions - Cowboys game was the personal foul on Robinson for tackling Elliott too hard. . .that was clearly a *protect the glamour team's star* call. . .if Robinson had tackled some running back from the Browns like that, it would be a highlight play. Total joke. But the Lions were out-smarted by Scott Linehan, Dallas' OC. . .he was one step ahead of the defense all night long. . .I'll be surprised if he don't get a HC job next year.
